EX Swimrun Runmarö - celebrate Swimrun on Sweden's National Day! Welcome to Runmarö, a vibrant archipelago island in the heart of Swimrun’s birthplace. On Sweden’s National Day, we celebrate the sport together with locals who have previously only seen the course markings from the ÖtillÖ Swimrun World Championships – but have never experienced Swimrun firsthand. ​Runmarö is unique with its seven lakes – or “swamps,” as they’re called in the archipelago – which already early in the season offer warm and safe swimming. During the summer, we’ve tested the courses, and this year there are two optimal routes that combine both sea and lake, with the option to adjust the distance according to water temperature. The SHORT (approx. 15K) and LONG (approx. 24K) races take you through the crystal-clear Viträsket, the traditional Uppebyträsket, the sparkling Nästräsket, and the mysterious Noreträsket, as well as sea swims to Storholmen, Solberga, and across Runmarö Kanal to Storön – and back again. The arena is located at the cozy Svängens Krog, where we enjoy food, drinks, and great company before and after the races.
